Exam preparation strategy for SSC CGL 2019 in one month
The last month of the preparation is the most crucial phase of converting your hard work into success. In this article, we will now discuss the strategy to prepare each section of the SSC CGL exam in the last four weeks (One month) of your preparation phase, section-wise, so let’s begin the discussion.
- Quantitative Ability
In Quantitative Ability section, there will be total 25 questions which will comprise 10-11 questions from Arithmetic, 6-7 questions from Geometry & Trigonometry and the remaining 4-5 questions will be from Algebra. In the first week, do prepare Arithmetic which will include topics like Ratio, Percentage, Averages, Time Speed Distance, Time and Work, Profit & Loss, Interest. In the second week, the students should prepare Geometry and Trigonometry. In the third week, you are required to prepare Algebra (Equations), along with leftover topics like Progressions and Simplification. In the fourth week, you are advised to revise everything you have studied and sincerely take mock tests to check your abilities.
- English Language
The proficiency in English Language Section requires students to be daily reader of English Newspapers, magazines, books etc and remain connected with topics of varied subjects. It will enhance your word power and improve your grammatical skills. This section consists of cloze test, sentence improvement, antonyms synonyms; fill in the blanks and other such topics. In the first week, the students should go through all the grammar rules which include tenses, voice, articles, prepositions, subject verb agreement and punctuation. In the second week, you should prepare active passive voice, direct indirect speech, cloze test, error spotting, sentence improvement and grammar-based fill in the blanks. In the third week, the students should prepare topics that require good memory skills like Antonym Synonyms, Idioms, Phrases, and Spellings etc. In the last week, you should attempt as much as mock tests as it will prove to be tension-reliever as well as morale booster for you.
- Reasoning Ability
To crack questions of Reasoning Ability section, you are required to practice harder to attain perfection. In first week, the student prepare Analogies (both numerical and verbal), Syllogisms, coding decoding. In the second week, you should prepare concepts like Odd one out, Alphabetical & Numerical Series, Missing terms. In the third week, you should target concepts like Blood Relations, Direction sense, Arrangements. In the fourth week, the students should sincerely attempt as much as mock tests.
- General Awareness
The General Awareness section is based on static General Knowledge and Current Affairs. It is the most scoring section where you can easily score around twenty questions in five minutes. In the first week, students should prepare topics like Science, Indian Polity, and Sports. In the second week, you should prepare topics like Geography, Economics, Books and authors. In the third week, do prepare topics like History, Computer Awareness while prepare the remaining topics and revise the entire syllabus in the fourth week.
